, Garden boundary of 53 Green Leys

I believe this Elm to be about 80 to 90 years old. I believe it was once part of an agricultural hedgerow prior to the building of the housing estate in 1952. I am guessing it was planted between 1920 and 1930. When we moved into 53, in 1990 a number of the tree twig tips showed evidence of the 'shepherds crook'. Over the years with careful management the tree has become a magnificent specimen, disease free and of good shappe, though quite clearly in the 'wrong' place it exhibits that typical cauliflower silhouette canopy head. It has 2 neighbouring specimens which are very stressed and probably dying. I have concentrated my financial resources on this healthy specimen. Because it is on the boundary of 2 properties measuring it's girth at 1.5M is not simply practical.
