Golden elm Ulmus x hollandica 'Wredei', Woodbury Exeter

Upright golden elm bought as Ulmus x hollandica 'Wredei' in 1981. It has flourished to about 7.5m, though the top shoot has reverted to green. I realise this was after the main damage done by Dutch elm disease: we lost all the hedgerow elms between our village of Woodbury and the east bank of the river Exe. However the ancient hedge bank only 10 metres from this elm continued to have dieback until the last two years and there are still dead patches in nearby hedges. Also have a fine Ulmus 'Jacqueline Hillier' nearby, now about 3.5m despite being very slow growing. Sadly no planting date but estimate in the 1980s.
