People Need to Eat

In a piece in the Darwin Initiative’s newsletter, our conservationist Neil Maddison emphasises how local people are the solution – not the problem – to conserving biodiversity of the Dja Faunal Reserve in Cameroon. Specifically looking at two Darwin projects in which the sustainability of natural resources is key.

“The crucial element that helps sustainability is empowering local people to make decisions about the activities they want to undertake, rather than communities having activities imposed  upon them by ‘outsiders.’
