RBG Kew Research Project

The Conservation Foundation has always had an interest in elms, which is why we were delighted to be asked to join a new research project by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The project organisers are currently applying for funding and if successful we will be involved with leading investigators and researchers along with a number of project partners from the UK, Spain and Italy to help organise an Expert Council formed from a number of leading environmental organisations and government agencies.

The project will explore the opportunities for tree species restoration in a number of ways including citizen science, and will consider tree species that have largely been lost or are at risk of being lost, and identify which could be returned to our landscapes.
